Land Acknowledgement
We acknowledge that the work to create this resource has taken place predominantly on the stolen lands of the hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓-speaking xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) people, which the University of British Columbia’s “Vancouver” campus currently occupies, as well as of other Coast Salish peoples, including the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) and the səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh).
About the Project
With Green Narratives: Literary Voices from the Amazon, we aim to provide insights into the overarching objectives of our historical academic project. A presentation of the project’s esteemed contributors and its affiliation with the UBC Public Humanities Hub will be included here. We explore how this initiative seeks to illuminate Amazonian communities’ historical and literary contributions, contributing substantively to the broader historical discussion encompassing culture and ecology.
Team
This resource is made possible by collaboration between Dr. Kim Beauchesne (faculty), Patricio Robles (graduate research assistant), Emily Ng (undergraduate IT assistant), community researchers, and Amazonian partners.
